At Hostel Honolulu, we offer a variety of comfortable and affordable accommodations to suit every traveler’s needs. Whether you’re a solo adventurer, traveling with friends, or visiting with family, our hostel provides the perfect home base for your stay on the beautiful island of Oʻahu.

2024 Rates:

  • Dorms: $35.00 per night
  • Private Rooms: $80.00 per night

Note: For private rooms, please call the office directly for availability.

Additional Information:

  • Non-members: A $3.00 non-membership fee per night applies upon check-in.

Accommodations

Dormitories

  • Separate for Male and Female Guests: We maintain separate dorms to ensure a comfortable and respectful environment for all guests.
  • Shared Bathrooms and Showers: Clean and well-maintained facilities are available for all dormitory guests.
  • Secure Lockers: Each dorm room includes small lockers for your valuables. Please bring your own padlock to secure your belongings.
  • Capacity: There are a total of 35 dorm beds available, accommodating solo travelers and groups alike.

Private Studios

  • Available Rooms: We offer 2 private rooms, neither of which are en-suite.
  • Room 1: Features a double bed, ideal for couples or friends.
  • Room 2: Equipped with a bunk bed and a twin bed, perfect for small families or groups.
  • Reservations: Private studios can only be reserved by telephone. Please call us at (808) 946-0591 to check availability and book your stay.

Facilities

Our hostel is equipped with a range of amenities designed to make your stay comfortable and convenient:

  • Dormitories:
  • Hours: Open from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 4 PM - 12:00 Midnight.
  • Check-In: Available anytime during office hours. Show a government-issued photo ID upon arrival.
  • Check-Out: By 11:00 AM
  • Late Arrivals: Bag storage available and arrangements can be made for arrivals after midnight.
  • Purchases: Limited food, padlocks, toothbrushes, and other miscellaneous items are available for purchase.
  • Common Areas:
  • Self-Catering Kitchen: Fully equipped with a microwave, stove, refrigerators, pots, pans, and utensils for your cooking needs.
  • Television Room and Lounge: Relax, watch TV, and socialize with fellow travelers.
  • Internet Access and Wi-Fi: Stay connected with high-speed internet available throughout the hostel.
  • Library: Access to travel and reference books to help plan your adventures.
  • Shared Lounge Areas: Comfortable spaces to unwind and meet new friends.
  • Additional Amenities:
  • Free Parking: Available on a first-come, first-served basis with 3 parking stalls.
  • Laundry Facilities: On-site coin-operated washers and dryers. Soap is available for purchase.
  • Recreational Equipment: Free sporting gear and quiet board games for your entertainment.
  • Payphone: For your convenience.
  • Soda Machine: Refreshments available at any time.
  • Ironing Facilities: Iron, ironing board, clothesline, and hair dryers provided.
  • Clean Linens: Fresh linens are provided for all guests.
  • No Smoking or Drinking: To maintain a clean and safe environment for everyone.

Policies

  • Maximum Length of Stay: 7 nights within any six-month period to ensure availability for all travelers.
  • Check-In Requirements: Each guest must present a government-issued photo ID (passport, driver's license, etc.) along with incoming and outgoing plane tickets (electronic tickets are acceptable).
  • Non-Member Fees: Non-members can purchase a membership online, buy a membership card at the hostel, or pay the temporary membership fee of $3.00 per night.

By Car from Airport:

  1. Take H1 East to exit 24B.
  2. Turn uphill on University Ave.
  3. Continue straight through Dole St and Metcalf St.
  4. Turn left onto Seaview Ave.

By Bus:

  1. Take City Bus #19 or #20 to Ala Moana Shopping Center.
  2. Transfer to Bus #A (CityExpress! UH MANOA).
  3. Get off at University Bus Stop.

Walk north on University Ave, then turn left on Seaview Ave.


Bus Fare:

  • $2.50 per ride (includes one free transfer)
  • Weekly and Monthly Passes available
  • Note: Only small backpacks allowed on the city bus
